Security

Chemical plant security understandably became a high national priority in the wake of 9/11. Responding to this concern R.T. Vanderbilt Holding Company, Inc. conducted an intensive security vunerability analysis (SVA) of all chemical linked facilities as well as product and information security. Although the threat to the community from compromised company operations was determined to be low, opportunity for security improvements were identified and upgrades were made and checked by independent review. Program examples include: Enhanced security fencing, lighting, guard services and electronic facility monitoring systems. Enhanced facility visitior control through door and gate card code systems, badges and records. Improved carrier identification checks. Expanded risk reviews of business partners (warehouses, carriers, distributors, etc.) that includes security considerations. Information Technology Systems with security safeguards.
